You can see the original version of this page if you scroll down, way down below this block of text.  I used to feature "My Top 10" page here, but after much introspective reflection and staring at my belly-button - decided to changed it to showcase a much different aspect of music and my interest in it.  Witness the birth of interesting music - which just happens to be a little (or more than a little), out of the ordinary.

Many is the track that I've hummed and hawed about posting on the main site, and have bypassed it for something a little more Rockin'.  This section of Cdnav.com is a list of the stuff I've enjoyed discovering over the years.  You'll have to approach it with an open mind, to say the least, but I think that those of you as twisted, er... 'open-minded about music', as myself, will surely find some tidbits of interest here.  Just keep in mind; I'm not making any effort to stick with 'acceptable' or 'mainstream' on this page.  Rather - its all just balls to the wall, 'hanging it all out there' tracks - you've been warned...

So with that bit of counsel, I'll kick it off the list with something from a long time ago; Opera mixed with Metal music, set to the tone of some crazy grave-yard loving sons of bitches.  Look on the site once and a while to see what other wild shit I've added...

Merciful Fate - Evil

Bodies Of Water - I Guess I'll Forget the Sound, I Guess, I Guess

Cloud Cult - When Water Comes To Life

Why - The Hollows

Former site posts (pre-crazy music :-)

I figured that since I keep introducing new music to the site on a daily basis, one or two of you might actually be interested in my personal 'Top 10' Playlist.  Note that all of the entries in the list below are 'Free & Legal' tracks from various bands and record label www sites, so feel free to download to your heart's content!  The music is really in no particular order, I numbered it "because that's what cha' do with lists" :-)  F' the radio, F' the RIAA, F' big media: they're lost - the future of music is independent & online

0)    The Thermals - Here's your future

1)    Matt Mays & El Torpedo - On the hood

2)    Gus Black - Certain kind of light

3)    The Hold Steadys - Little hoodrat friend

4)    Tokyo Police Club - Citizens of tomorrow

5)    The Orange Mothers - Alien

6)    The Apostles Of Hustle - My sword hand's anger

7)    Chris Smither - Leave the light on

8)    Danielson - Did I step on your trumpet?

9)    Josh Ritter    Harrisburg

You cats have no friggin' idea how difficult it was to make a list with only 10 entries!  Truth be told, there are hundreds more on the site that I really dig.  In fact, I generally audition dozen of tracks per night and only one or two make the cut as 'good enough for the site'.  fact of the matter is: there is a shit load of music out there, but most of its is crap!  I do however, really dig pretty much everything you see on Cdnav.  Space permitting, I would like to have included The Fields - Song for the fields, Teddybears - Cobrastyle, The Devil in Mrs. Jones - i-dentity, The Black Keys Meet me in the city, and, um, never mind...

The ones I picked are truly only on the list cause' they have recently been posted and are fresh in my head - I encourage you to dig around and play / download everything you can get your mouse-clicks on.  The links I provide are pretty volatile as bands and record labels change their pages often enough that a link can be, as The Dayglows say: Here today, Guano tomorrow!
